Capsule Review and a Peek Inside My Longchamp

6 Oct

I recently got myself a Longchamp Le Pliage. You know, the infamous nylon tote bag? It’s a little late, but I really wasn’t considering the fad; I wanted a bag that was:

  • sturdy
  • roomy
  • lightweight
  • simple
  • waterproof
  • non-fussy
  • easy to clean

The Le Pliage seemed to fit this so I finally caved in and bought one. Since I plan on this being my everyday/work bag, I bought myself the medium tote with long handles. I don’t carry a lot, per se, so I don’t see the point of buying the large one (though this claim might come back and bite me in the ass; I’m really tempted on getting a big one now).

It’s also a plus that there are so many knock-offs out there that I’m sure thieves are pretty sick of seeing this bag.

Travel: What’s in my Carry On Bag 2012

21 Aug

It’s my last day in KL. I’m actually on my way back to manila now. It’s funny how you waited so long for it and it went by so fast. Well, technically I was here just for the long weekend. I so wish I could stay longer.

Anyway.. I thought I’d feature what was in my carry-on bag from my flight to Manila-Singapore-KL and back.

I’ll upload the pictures later.

No fancy totes here; just a coral Jansport SuperBreak. It’s lightweight, sturdy, waterproof and easy to slip on and off your back during security checks. I travel alone so I wanted to make it as painless as possible. Come to think of it, it was rather smooth (‘cept for the part where I had to run from one end of Changi Airport to another).

I’d rather be practical than fancy.

Makeup Kit April 2012

7 Apr

Funny incident around two weeks ago when I was suddenly pulled out of my chair to apply makeup on an important person. I wasn’t comfortable with the idea since I thought my arsenal wasn’t enough (after all, it was all for personal use), but they were surprised how “complete” (daw) my kit was!

I don’t get it.

But anyway, it did evolve from my last post…

… Though some of the usual suspects are still there.

What’s in my bag: October 2011

20 Oct

I had one of these a few months back, but I’ve been itching to make another. I have this little quirk of changing bags (almost daily) because I just love to arrange the stuff inside it. Seriously.

Normal people may hate packing, but apparently, I’m not normal.

What’s always in my bag

9 Jul

Everybody carries a bag, yes? For work, going out, travel and so on. Being the OC person that I am, I plan everything the night before: my outfit, FOTD, makeup and the contents of my bag.

The bag in question is my trusty messenger bag. It’s beige with black piping. I’ve had it since I was in college. I had an old whats-in-my-bag post before and I featured the same bag. It’s leather, hence making it super durable but I still change bags every now and then. What I love the most about this is that it’s practically waterproof. I’m not an umbrella person so I can no longer count how many times I’ve been caught in the rain. This keeps my stuff dry and it can become my pseudo umbrella.

It only looks big in the picture, but it’s pretty slim in person. I’m not a fan of bulky bags. I like ’em slim and structured.
